What is a Home Inspection?

Purchasing a home is a really big deal. Really big deals deserve a very wise and thoughtful process. A Home Inspection is simply the wisdom to hire an expert to evaluate the physical structure and the systems and components, from the roof to the foundation. This in-depth process takes an average of approximately 3 hours to complete and is concluded with a detailed and illustrative written report. We’ll inform you of areas where repairs may be necessary, previous damage may have occurred, and suggest routine maintenance items to protect your future investment. And not to be overlooked, we’ll absolutely let you know about the encouraging findings as well.

Why do I need a Home Inspection?

Cause Hall needed Oates, that’s why. Ok, we’re just kidding. The reality is, few people will make a larger investment in their lifetime than purchasing a home. And most people are unlikely to have the ability solely on their own to determine if a home has all the right stuff, or if it has major underlying issues that could end up being very costly, and untimely. A Home Inspection is the greatest protection you can provide against going all in on a house only to find that there are repairs needed that will extend well beyond your reasonable and healthy budget. Think of it like 4-wheel drive: no one’s excited about the additional cost upfront, but it’s worth every bit and then some when you’re caught in a downpour and you find yourself completely stuck. Lucky for all of us, the cost of a Home Inspection doesn’t touch the cost of going off-roading, making its value much more well-advised.

Can a house fail a home inspection?

Nope. (That was easy). Here’s the thing. A home inspection is an evaluation by a trained professional of the current physical conditions, structure, and components. It’s that simple. We’re not appraising the home; we’re not enforcing codes; we’re not trying to sell the home. The inspection is not a test that the property either passes or fails. We gather important information about your important decision and let you decide how you will use it.
